Ascension Builds/Habitat for Humanity

Ascension has been donated our time building houses to help families obtain their own homes. While our service time is both needed we also need to support our Ascension Builds program financially. Thrivent provides 90% of the money necessary for the families. Our local Lutheran churches commit to helping out with the other 10%. Our goal is $1,500 for each active church. So if you have wanted to participate in Ascension Builds/Habitat For Humanity and were not able to donate service time, now is your chance to donate financial support for our program.

During October there will be a Ascension Builds board with information so you can "Meet the Families." In addition there will be a paint can where you can put donations to "buy" a piece of the house. I ask you to pray for these families and if you find it your heart that you want to help financially please make check donations payable to Ascension Lutheran Church with a memo to Ascension Builds. At the end October Ascension will write a check to Thrivent Builds for monies collected.

As this year comes to an end I would like to take this opportunity to thank all that contributed their time and talents and thank in advance all who will contribute financially so we can build more houses next year.
