Music Spring Schedule

Music at Ascension begins once more on March 13th featuring the spectacular concert pianist, Myron Brown of Birmingham, Alabama. This first concert of the spring season will also feature Theresa May, virtuoso trumpeter from Cleveland, Ohio.

Mr. Brown is a multiple prize winner of the many piano competitions: the Alys Stephens Piano Competition, the Francis and Dorsey Whittington Concerto Competition, the Alabama-Trotter Award for “Most Outstanding Performer,” and the Theodore Presser Award. Mr. Brown has also been the featured soloist with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra under the direction of Erich Kunzel and appeared as a soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony on its series, Classical Roots and Young People’s Concert Series. Mr. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Birmingham Southern; a master’s degree from Houston’s Moores School of Music, under the instruction of Ruth Tomfohrde. Mr. Brown is currently in Cincinnati and studying with Elizabeth and Eugene Pridonoff where he is completing his doctorate in piano performance.
