Music schedule at Ascension

AMAHL and the NIGHT VISITIORS
On the evenings of December 12 and 13th, Ascension Lutheran will come alive with the sounds of this beautiful Christmas musical by Gian Carlo Menotti. This world-famous work features Jacob Mortenson as Amahl and Mary K. Bergman as the mother, with the three Magi represented by David Bezona as Kaspar, Tadzio Smith as Melchior, and Anthony Barkley as Balthazar. The final compliment will see Zachary Seidenman as the page. This is an excellent opportunity to invite your friends (especially those with children) to experience this wonderful story as the three Magi stop overnight at the home of a single parent and her crippled son, Amahl, on their way to Bethlehem. As the child offers his only possession, his crutch, as a gift to the newborn Jesus, he is miraculously healed!

PROPS NEEDED
Old and very used props are needed for the coming Amahl and the Night Visitors presentation. The following is needed:
1. 1 old, beat-up wooden table (or one that can be painted to look beat up)
2. 1 old, beat-up wooden chair
3. 1 like-wise stool for Amahl
4. 1 old, single bed (preferably wooden that looks old or can be aged)
5. A fake fire place that can be stressed to look old
6. 1 covered candlestick holder

Several persons have agreed on working on the Amahl set. David is still looking for more help. Please contact him at 237-3636. Amahl and the Night Visitors, December 12th and 13th, Ascension Fellowship Hall, 7:00 p.m.

TELL THE GOOD NEWS JESUS IS BORN
The children are beginning to prepare their Christmas message to the congregation, "Tell the Good News, Jesus is Born". They will be presenting their gift of music and dialogue at the December 21st worship service. They will be working very hard to learn their songs during their Sunday School opening each week. All children are encouraged to be a part of this Ascension family tradition.
