One Heart Prayer
The OneHeart Prayer Ministry at Ascension meets every other Tuesday to pray
for all concerns our members have for themselves or others.
There is a box on a small table in the narthex between two of the lounge chairs
for you to place your requests into. All prayer requests remain confidential but are
acknowledged with a card if you sign your name so you know we have granted your request.
They can also be requested anonymously if you prefer. We have seen many of our prayers
answeredÉ....thanks be to God!

Help with Music at Ascension
Three great chamber music concerts have been planned for this fall's Music at Ascension
program. We are seeking persons who would like to manage or assist David Bezona in presenting
these fine programs as an outreach to our friends and neighbors, in addition to our Ascension
family. All concerts are advertised in the Cincinnati Enquirer, in other Lutheran churches and the
usual advertising locations. Concerts are FREE
and begin at 7 p.m., followed by a "Meet the Artist"
reception with special surprises from each country represented. This program is also being
supported by Thrivent for Lutherans. Mark your calendars!
The Adagio Trio
The Adagio Trio with harpist, Lin Grieser, flutist, Kathy Daniels, and cellist, Mike
Daniels will be performing in concert on Sunday, November 9th at 3:00 p.m. The
concert is sponsored by Church of the Redeemer at 2944 Erie Ave. in Hyde Park.
They will be playing selections from their newly released "Celtic Heart" CD along
with favorites from their other recordings. The concert is free.
The ÒCeltic HeartÓ CD is on sale for $16.00 by Martha Miker, LinÕs marketing
manager. Lin gives a portion of her sale back to Ascension. This is wonderful
music for your soul and lovely gifts for family and friends.
Grand Piano Fund
A plaque showing donors to the piano fund is now on the wall at the rear of the sanctuary
on the choir side. Donors who wished to memorialize family or friends are listed along with
those recognized.
Special thanks to Diana Rasmussen for the lettering and Adele Garneret for the watercolor
rendering. We are blessed to have such talented members who share their gifts with us.
Altar Flowers to our Shut Ins
When you sign the Flower Donor Chart
please add a "D" beside your name if
you would like to donate the flowers to
a member in need or to one of the
shut ins. The flowers can be sent
home to people in special needs on
Sunday following the 11 am worship
or a member of the Pastoral Team can
take them to one of our shut ins.
The AMOS Project
Last year around this time The Amos Project
initiated the program GET OUT THE VOTE.
Various areas of the city had been having very low
voter turnout. With the help of some employed
interns and 200 volunteers from our congregations,
we were able to persuade 3000 people in low turnout
areas to vote. We did that by going door to
door asking for their commitment to vote and
register them if necessary. As time grew close to
the election, we revisited or phoned to remind
them of their commitment.
This year we intend again to help on increasing
voter turn out in low turnout areas. We need
volunteers every Saturday in September and
October and November 1. We would like our
volunteers to offer at least two Saturdays. Please
call Dorsey Stebbins at 742-4707 for more information
or email him at dorseystebbins@netzero.com.
